The 2019 ‘My Highlands Home’ Art Prize was a huge success and something I am immensely proud of.

We received over 73 entries, which was a fantastic effort. While all the pieces were truly wonderful, there could only be one winner.

Forest Bathing by Dana Dixon

This gorgeous piece, featured above, is titled ‘Forest Bathing’ and it was painted by local artist Dana Dixon. It was inspired by Dana’s love of our stunning and lush landscapes that reach far and wide throughout the Southern Highlands.

Judge Amanda Penrose Hart said of the work: “Beautiful at a distance – what a lovely composition. Cool colours, well placed within a confident composition. Good presentation, framed and even finish across the surface.” Dana won $4000 in this acquisitive prize. It will hang in the window of my Bong Bong Street Office for all to admire.

My Highlands Home Art Prize Supports Rural Aid

The My Highlands Home Art Prize also raised money for Buy a Bale and Rural Aid Australia, to help our struggling farmers.

Jason from donor relations from Rural Aid said:

“I just wanted to send a quick email thanking you guys for the support. We really appreciate it a lot and rural Australia does as well!”

Thanks to all who attended and supported this event. We are already in the planning stages for 2020 and things look set to be truly incredible!

Thanks again for all the support!

Love, Di x
