Spoil Dad This Father’s Day at The Southern Highlands’ Best Eateries!

With Father’s Day right around the corner, I thought I’d list some of the best places to go to celebrate Dad on Sunday September 1st, 2019! 

Grand Bistro Bowral

Everyone’s fave casual dining room, Grand Bistro in Bowral, is offering a sumptuous two course menu (mains and dessert) for $45 a head, and three courses (entrée, main and dessert) for $75 per head (alcohol not included). 

Guests can devour house made mushroom tortellini with Parmesan and ricotta or house made pumpkin and ricotta ravioli with hazelnut and sage butter sauce for entrée. 

The choice of mains include roasted pork belly with pan fried vegetables and apple sauce, 20 hours slow cooked beef in red wine with creamy mash potato and green beans, or crispy skin barramundi with cauliflower puree, Dutch carrot, baby tomatoes and pine nuts. The feast is perfectly punctuated with either Tiramisu or chocolate brownie, chocolate ice cream and choc hot sauce for dessert.

Gibraltar Hotel Bowral
With a Father’s Day feast starting at $35 per head for kids and $75 for adults (drinks not included), you can be sure you’ll leave well-satiated. The luncheon is a family-style shared platter set up, with dishes including grilled riverine eye fillet, roast marinated chicken and slow braised lamb shoulder, amongst many other mouth-watering options. And, as a favourite of the late, great Geoff Harvey, who was renowned for his exquisite taste, you can be sure you will be eating some top notch food!

Peppergreen Estate Berrima

This gorgeous Berrima-based cellar door and tasting room is taking bookings now. Offering a range for delicious cool-climate wines and a French-inspired Modern Australian menu, you can opt for a tasting plate as you sip several drops, commit to a dedicated lunch chosen from a carefully curated menu that caters for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans alike.

Bendooley Estate Berrima

A perennial favourite, everyone knows that a day or night out at Bendooley Estate will always be success. This year, the lush estate is offering bookings for the Book Barn, or its latest venue, The Stables. 

Enjoy a three course menu in the Book Barn for $90pp or book a table at The Stables for a table share menu at $75pp (minimum of 4 adults). All tables will receive a special gift for Dad on the day. Please note alcohol and other beverages are not included in the price.

Birch Moss Vale

A family style shared menu, crafted around local seasonal produce, Birch will ensure that Dad, and the whole family, leaves feeling full and happy! 

The meal begins with a shared entrée platter, followed by a Sunday roast-inspired main course and a dessert platter to punctuate the meal. There are two seating times offered – 11.30am and 2.30pm, and prices start at $65 per head, not including alcohol. There’s also a special menu for kid’s under 12, but please do give notice when you book.
