Following on from its success last year, I’m thrilled to announce that I am sponsoring the second annual belle property Bowral BDAS Bowral Art Gallery My Highland Home art prize, with a total prize pool of $5000.
The theme for this wonderful acquisitive art prize is “interpretive” and may feature whatever “My Highlands Home” means to you, be it our beautiful valleys, mountains, sheds, cattle, cafes, or people!
The only condition is that entrants’ inspiration must come from within the area of our very own beautiful Southern Highlands.
The exhibition will open on Friday August 2 at 6.30pm.
Celebrated Sydney artist Amanda Penrose Hart will be judging the prize, and I will announce the winner that night.
The entries will be on exhibit at the gallery until August 11. We have been receiving some fantastic entries, so the exhibition looks set to be incredible again this year!
- First Prize $4000 (acquisitive)
- Second Prize $1000
- People’s Choice $200.
Works may be on canvas, paper or printmaking media, and can be produced using any medium excluding photographic print. Works are invited in sizes no smaller than 60cm x 60cm, and no larger than 1.22m wide x 1.8m high.
The prize-winning painting will become the property of Belle Property Bowral and will displayed at their Bowral office after the exhibition close. The proceeds from the sale of the artworks will be donated to Buy a Bale, to help out our struggling Aussie farmers.
BDAS Bowral Art Gallery is located at 1 Short Street Bowral.
