Beauty in the Southern Highlands is in abundance,, with spas and salons at the ready for all your aesthetic needs. Here’ a few of my faves.
The Vogue Room Bowral
Located in Springett’s Arcade, owner/operator Alysha has kept up the high quality and standards that founder Arianne Dobler set in place when she first opened it years ago (Arianne has a new project on the go, so watch this space for news on that one soon!).
Aside from offering thee perfect spray tan, she does wonderful manicures and efficient waxing with minimal discomfort. I also love that she stocks the cruelty-free, vegan friendly Aussie made make-up line Adderton Beauty.
The founder of Adderton Beauty is the most wonderful man, who’s been in the beauty biz for well over 30 years and is widely known in beauty circles as ‘the Francois Nars of Australia.’
Sculptress
Sitting privately behind Berida Hotel in Bowral, this team is one of the only (if not THE only) in the region offering Cryo treatments, which use sub-zero temperatures to freeze away stubborn fatty deposits in trouble zones of the body or face (bye, bye double chin!).
And of course, they offer an array of pampering body and facial treatments that will see you floating out the door every time!
Savoir Faire Hair and Beauty Bowral
My friend Sophia goes here for her hair, while another great friend gets her regular Botox injections with highly reputed, skilled and experienced cosmetic nurse Damien Smith in a clinic-style set up at the back of the beautiful salon.
Savoir faire is also renowned for great lashes and brows, as well as indulgent facials using Juniper Pure Organic Skincare.
The Skin Club
This salon in the heart of beautiful Bowral specialises in fixing all manner of skin issues, from acne to ageing and beyond! Owner operator Mardi uses high quality cosmeceutical skincare products, Medik8 and Mesoestetic in all treatments she offers. The products are all available for purchase in the salon, and Mardi can prescribe just the right ritual for you. Also on offer are high tech treatments using devices designed to literally wipe away the years. These include microdermabrasion, skin needling, Healite LED light therapy, peels and of course, a host of specialty facials.
Elle Bache Bowral
While Ella Bache is a big name chain it’s important for us to remember that this is a locally owned franchise, so we need to support them too!
One of my favourite treatments here is the Signature Facial, which lulls you into a deep state of relaxation and keeps skin glowing!
Endota Spa Bowral
Located on beautiful cherry-blossomed lined Merrigang Street, this is a true sanctuary. From the second you step in the door, you’re relaxed and cocooned in luxury. Owner Lianne will greet you and guide you into the relaxing tea space. You can enjoy a calming tea before you’re taken to a private room for your treatment. Don’t miss the brand new Intense new Age Facial – it’s not only super relaxing, but it really brings results!
SIVA Beauty Mittagong
Think: fab, long lasting mani’s and pedi’s, indulgent massage, fantastic facials, amazing brow and lash tint, great waxing and sensational fake tans. Oh, and they also have hairdressing services.
Affinity Body and Beauty Moss Vale
Nothing is too much trouble for Cheryl, who mans this spacious salon by herself. She always seems to be able to fit you in at the last minute and treats each client like a VIP. Of special note – her tinting and her tanning. She’s amazing.
Iris Skin and Beauty Moss Vale
This salon is another fabulous all-rounder, with luxurious facials, amazing massage and terrific maintenance treatments, including lashes, waxing and more! They also specialise in wedding beauty and make-up, which is great for brides who want to start planning their spring weddings now!
