Di Dixon, is an award winning real estate agent and the owner and founding Principal of Home & Hearth Property after first establishing Belle Property as a Franchisee here in Bowral 9 years ago. She has worked in the local real estate industry in the Beautiful NSW Southern Highlands for the last 11 years and remains passionate about property and this amazing area, still actively involved in the sale and listing of property every day.
Di has lived in Bowral for 26 years and has been involved in art most of her life. Attending Chiron College in Birchgrove for two years, the patron at the time was Charles Blackman. This is where her real love and passion for painting and drawing really took off. Beyond that Di’s art has evolved and attends workshops intermittently, but she is largely self-taught, driven and inspired by every day scenes. Clouds and mists, misted and layered landscapes the majesty of nature in its moods.
When Di first moved to the Southern Highlands 26 years ago she was designing and creating ranges of vibrant ceramics, one design was picked up and mass produced by a popular dinner ware manufacturer. Di, working from her home studio, running two big kilns 24 hours a day supplied several different ranges of hand crafted ceramics to large Australian Resorts, such as Ayers Rock Resort and Cable Beach Resort.
Di has worked the majority of her career in Advertising and Marketing within the magazine sector on well known publications such as Australian Country Style as National Advertising Manager and Advertising Manager for Highlife Magazine.
Di’s most recent works were hugely inspired by her recent trip to Scotland, where no matter where you turn, there’s a painting. From the depths of the Cairngorms to Nevis Range, Glencoe, Balachullish. The glens, the lochs, the munroes and the bens! The wildness and the raw beauty is everywhere and everpresent. Di captured hundreds of images from this recent trip and has endless paintings yet to be conceived and created.
